Step 1: Open the youtube.dl page and this page is completely free. Command line is needed here and doesn’t deal with ads. Paste rg3.github.io/YouTube-dl/ in your browser.
Step 2: Download your program which completely depends on your Operating System either for Windows or Mac.
Step 3: In this page, you have to install FFmpeg; this software allows you to audio from video into MP3. In Windows download ffmpeg.org/download.html and download the 32-bit or 64-bit installer. A Zip file will be downloaded and extract those files. Move your .exe files to same location as “youtube-dl.exe”. In Mac, open the terminal type brew install ffmpeg. It will automatically download and install FFmpeg using Homebrew.
Step 4: Open the video which you wish to download and copy the address of video and load that page.
Step 5: Copy the address of video in the address bar and then right-click on the selection and select “Copy.”
Step 6: Open command prompt or terminal in the command line by interacting with youtube.dl. Command prompt can be used by typing cmd. In Mac, you can find the terminal in Utilities folder.
Step 7: Now, enter the YouTube-dl and press space. But don’t run the command immediately.
Step 8: Select the Option for MP3 files for e.g., type –extract-audio –audio-format mp3 and press Space.
Step 9: Copied URL can be pasted and the entire command should look like youtube-dl –extract-audio –audio-format mp3 videoURL.
Step 10: Using ↵ Enter/⏎ Return will run the command and start downloading your video. And FFmpeg will extract your video and convert into MP3 format.
Step 11: Now in the last step, find your MP3 file in a user directory. Double-click it to play it on your media player.
